Optimization of Inheritance and Development Path of Minority Languages and Scripts under Register Theory

Abstract: In the current situation where the speed of national cultural integration is accelerating, foreign cul-ture has strongly invaded the culture of Chinese minorities. The culture of minorities can’t make profound adjustment with the development of the times, leading to the gradual disappearance of the languages and scripts of some minorities. The yearning of the young generation for modern urban life and the inadequate education of minority languages and scripts have made the inheritance and development of minority languages and scripts face difficulties. Starting from the actual decline of minority languages and scripts, we should pay more attention to them. At the same time, necessary measures must be taken to continuously enhance the influence of minorities languages in the current language application. In this paper, the optimization of the inheritance and development path of minority languages and scripts is analyzed from the perspective of register theory, which analyzes the three elements of register theory: field, tenor and mode. It explores the elements of field, creating an adequate field environment for the inheritance and development of minority languages and scripts; it also grasps the dimension of the tenor, developing precise tenor path for the inheritance and development of minority languages and scripts; as well as it sorts out the categories of mode, providing appropriate styles of mode for the inheritance and development of minority languages and scripts.
