Cultural Contrastive Study and Translation of English and Chinese Colour Words

Abstract: This paper intends to make a cultural contrastive study of English and Chinese colour words from the perspective of history, geographical conditions, thinking mode and folk-custom. Some translation methods are given to attach the importance of cultural interpretation to faithfulness and smoothness in translation practice.
