Abstract: With the advent of the information age, various network information into the university. As an important place for China's talent reserve and output, colleges and universities are an important front for propagating mainstream ideology. As the implementer and undertaker of the Chinese dream, college students are the main force of national construction. The mainstream ideology of college students will not only affect the construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics, but also affect the realization of the Chinese dream. Nowadays, there are some problems in the application of mainstream ideology in the cultivation of awareness in higher education. In view of this situation, we should make a detailed analysis of the application of mainstream ideology in the cultivation of awareness in higher education and propose countermeasures, so as to cultivate excellent successors to socialism.
