A Study on Diplomatic Discourse Translation on Building a Human Community with A Shared Future based on Appraisal Theory Attitude System

Abstract: In political speeches, speakers and audiences interact using various methods and techniques to ex-plicitly express their views on specific political issues, thereby enabling audiences to comprehend abstract po-litical information and influencing their attitudes and behaviors. Based on the Appraisal Theory in the frame-work of Systemic Functional Linguistics, this study aims to qualitatively analyze three political speeches of President Xi Jinping’s on building a human community with a shared future in the English version. in addition, by analyzing the attitudinal resources in the speeches, this study explores the speech characteristics of President Xi Jinping's foreign speeches and, then, reveals the Chinese voice conveyed by the national Lead-ers' foreign speeches.
