An Evacuation Simulation Modelon Passenger Ships based on Multi-grid Cellular Automata Method

Abstract: A new evacuation model has been proposed for the passenger ships with multi-exit and multi-channel. The multi-grid cellular automat method is used to model the spatial characteristics and passenger behavior in a more detail and natural way. And a local random optimal navigation strategy is designed for pedestrians’updating rules which consider the balance of directionality and randomness of pedestrians in the evacuation process. At last, a simulation examination in aship with 240 passengers is presented to illustrate the validity of proposed model.
