Abstract: In order to study the effect of grass-slope protection on slope protection, shear strength parameters of plant root soils were simulated by finite element numerical simulation software. The shear strength parameters of soil materials and the variation of material parameters under the influence of various factors were calculated. The conclusion is as follows: A root system in soil will increase the shear strength of the material; when the soil has a root system, as the length of the root system increases, the cohesion and internal friction angle of the material increase gradually; The increase of the density of root distribution in the body increases the cohesion force and the internal friction angle. In the soil, the inclination angle of the root system only affects the cohesion of the root, and has no effect on the size of the internal friction angle. With the increase of the tilt angle of the root system, the cohesion gradually decreases.According to the degree of soil looseness, suitable plant planting should be selected to give full play to plant slope protection.
