Abstract: To use the complementary strengths of CDN and P2P networks for the large-scale digital content distribution, this thesis proposes a hybrid content distribution network model, which deploys the CDN system in the backbone networks and builds the P2P regionalization network in the access network, so the end users can simultaneously access data through the CDN and P2P networks. Experimental results show that compared with the traditional CDN network the proposed model can reduce the edge server load and save the cost of deployment; compared with the P2P network, it can enhance the QOS guarantee and reduce the backbone traffic; compared with HP2P, it has greater download rate, which can reduce the network transmission over- head.
