Abstract: The European ｕｎｉｏｎ is based on the rule of law. This means that every action taken by the EU(Abbreviation of “European ｕｎｉｏｎ”, all the same in this thesis) is founded on treaties that have been approved voluntarily and democratically by all EU member countries. For example, if a policy area is not cited in a treaty, the Commission cannot propose a law in that area. So it is important and meaningful to study the law system of the EU. In this thesis, the following topics will be considered: the sources of EU law; two fundamental principles of EU law; the application of EU law; in order to make EU law more accessible , the writer reads numerous cases of the European Court of Justice. she links the theory with practice of the court. The conclusion is as follows: Although the EU has made many achievements, there are still many limitations; many things remain to be improved in the future.
