Improvement and Innovation of Teaching methods in English Education

Abstract: As a basic course of higher education, English teaching plays an important role in developing stu-dents' English basic knowledge and language ability. English teaching methods and teaching models cannot effectively adapt to the characteristics and rules of English teaching in the new era, and there are some prob-lems such as unreasonable curriculum, non-standard teaching materials, lack of teachers and so on. This paper studies the methods of improving English teaching methods and proposes a new English teaching model based on flipping classroom and microcourse teaching mode. This paper studies the application value of microcourse teaching mode in English classroom teaching. Firstly, it analyzes the basic principles and advantages of microcourse teaching mode, and it carries on the classroom innovation research combining with the teaching practice of English classroom course. Combined with the actual needs of college English classroom teaching, the practice and reform of professional English teaching is analyzed. Through micro-course and flipping classroom teaching, students can have the autonomy and flexibility of learning, at the same time, they can cultivate students' interest in learning and improve their ability of autonomous learning. By using advanced teaching methods such as multimedia technology and network equipment, this paper designs and makes exquisite and practical electronic courseware carefully, and advocates the teaching method of "teacher as the main body and students as the main body" in English teaching. In the design of teaching mode, students are encouraged to study independently, combine active learning with individualized learning, we need pay attention to the improvement of students' language application ability, and improve the teaching quality of professional English through the improvement and innovation of teaching methods.
