Abstract: Due to the frequent occurrence of earthquakes in the western region of China, the design of seismic performance of tunnels has become more and more important. It is even more important to find the damage law of linings on earthquakes. In this paper, ABAQUS finite element software is used to simulate the damage process of highway tunnel lining under earthquake by using plastic damage model, and the tensile and compression damage and stiffness decrease rate of the tunnel are analyzed. The results show that the tunnel lining is mainly subjected to tensile damage under earthquakes, and the damage occurs at the arch feet, arch shoulders, arch waists, and arch feet. With the continuous loading of seismic loads, the damage gradually penetrates. Therefore, in order to improve the seismic performance of these parts, the research results of this article provide a reference for the seismic design of the tunnel.
